Top 3 beaches in Lefkada, Greece

Recently I visited Lefkada, one of the islands in the Ionian Sea on the west coast of Greece and I was fascinated by its spectacular nature. Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world are located on the island.

The first one, which will stay in my heart, is the Kathisma. The beach is located in the area of Agios Nikitas, near the main town of Lefkada. It offers endless beach strip and very fine sand, so I would strongly recommend Kathisma to people who loves the sand.

Of course, I couldn’t have missed putting Porto Katsiki on my list, one of the world’s top ten most beautiful beaches. The road that takes you there is very narrow, and full of tight turns. The word “katsiki” in the Greek language means goat and when you get there you find out why the beach is named that way. Because of that, you will see a spectacular landscape and crystal blue water.

Finally, the real surprise for me was Megali Petra Beach. Located in the western part of the island, the beach is like a pretty petite bijou, which fascinated me with its majestic cliffs. It’s a unique mix of pebbles, fine sand, and endless blue water which makes it, in my opinion, the most impressive seashore in Lefkada.

When you are planning your vacation in Lefkada, there is only one thing you should consider – you need a car. You can eighter go there by car or you can just rent one when you arrive. The island is 302 square kilometers and unfortunately, there are not many options for public transport.

Pchelina lake – a magic place!

В моментите, когато искаме да се откъснем от забързаното ежедневие, обикновено се впускаме в търсене на нови и непознатите места. Така след кратко търсене в интернет открих язовир Пчелина, само на около 60 километра югозападно от град София, дестинация изпълнена с история и прекрасни гледки. 

At times when we want a break from the everyday life, usually, rush in searching for new and unknown places. So after a short search on the internet, I found Pchelina lake only about 60 kilometers southwest of Sofia, a destination filled with history and beautiful scenery.

Ставайки в събота решихме, че трябва да видим и на живо това прекрасно място. Стигайки до крайната точка на нашето кратко пътуване пред нас се разкри гледка спираща дъха – безкрайно синята вода на Пчелина и дивата природа на местността. Язовирът е обграден от едната си страна с полегати хълмчета, а от другата се издигат живописни скали, където величествено е разположен средновековният храм “Св. Йоан Летни”.  Храмът датира от 14 век и през годините е станал повод за много легенди. Пред него се разкрива панорамна гледка към цялата местност.

Waking up on Saturday we decided that we should see this spectacular place. Reaching the end point of our short journey in front of us is revealed breathtaking view – endless blue water of the Pchelina lake and the wildlife of the area. The lake is surrounded on one side by gentle hills and the other rising picturesque rocks where majestically is situated the medieval chapel “St. Ioan Letni”. The temple dates back to the 14th century and over the years has become a cause for many legends. Ahead of him, you can see a panoramic view of the entire area.

Днес ще споделя една прекрасна идея за кратко бягство в планината, а именно до връх Безбог, намиращ се на около 20 минути път с кола от Добринище. Разходка, която зарежда и разкрива множество невероятни гледки. Всичко започва с изкачване с открит лифт, който стига до хижа Безбог и китното Безбожко езеро. Оттам насетне, ако искате можете да се качите и до самия връх (около час и половина преход), също така можете и мигновенно да се насладите на приказната пиринска красота, като да отпуснете в заведението до езерото.

Today I share a great idea for a short getaway into the mountains, which ends on Bezbog, peak in Pirin mountain located about 20 minutes drive from Dobrinishte. One walk that reveals many amazing views. It all starts with climbing a chairlift that leads to Bezbog hut and lovely Bezbog lake. From then on, there a lot of options how to spend the day. If you want to get to the very top (it’s about an hour and a half hike), you can also instantly enjoy the enchanting beauty of Pirin, and to relax in the restaurant next to the lake.

През последните няколко седмици времето е невероятно за този период от годината и се опитвам да запечатам в кадър всеки слънчев лъч. През уикенда си направихме малка разходка до една от любимите ми дестинации – етрополския водопад Варовитец. 

These last few weeks the weather is incredible for this time of year and I am trying to catch each sunbeam into a shot. Over the weekend we made a small trip to one of my favorite places – etropole waterfall Varovitets.

Hello, it’s a Monday!

Продължавам с втората порция снимки от пътуването ми до Старосел, а именно – дегустацията на вино. За съжаление, снимките които направих не са с най-доброто качество, но се надявам да бъдат достатъчни, за да усетите атмосферата в Енотеката. На рецепцията предлагаха няколко варианта на wine tasting-a с три, пет или девет вина. Аз се спрях на този с петте. Преди дегустацията имаше кратък тур из винарната, където ни обясниха накратко за историята на избата, различните методи за произвеждане на вино, както и ни разведоха из мястото където се случва всичко.

Keep on with the second portion of pictures from my trip to Starosel – namely wine tasting. Unfortunately, the pictures that I took did not have the best quality, but I hope that will be sufficient to feel the atmosphere of the Enoteca. At the reception offers several options of wine tasting with three, five or nine wines. I stopped on this with five wines. Before the tasting, there was a short tour of the winery, where they briefly explained to us the history of the winery, the different methods production of wine and have shown us the place where it all happens.
